Concept Cutscene
Since the last few updates have not been game content, I was working with something and decided to upload it so the community could enjoy it early. This is a concept for an early game Patches Of Adventure cutscene. I'm currently using the text adventure game maker software known as Inky to do the writing. I noticed that I had a few export options and that this was a nice little scene. In this scene, the player has beaten the classic version of the game. Mild spoilers ahead. In Classic, (an old game jam game entry) the goal was to collect the magical island seeds that were just laying on the ground, present them to mayor at the seed festival contest, and start your shop off with good money with the reward!
The problem is that the seeds don't grow anything. The locals knew this forever, and so, left them there as duds. While outside the island, it is common knowledge that these things are seeds and are classified as such, yet people don't know what they grow. So, while they were technically magical seeds, they were invalid. So the entire town laughs at her. The problem is Patches didn't know the local town lore. So she walks away, deject. With everyone too embarrassed to say anything.
This scene picks up a week later. Most people have said something or other to her. The town still shops at her potion store, things are going nice. Yet there are still a few scragglers that show up now and then. This scene shows the last one.
This scene also introduces a new game mechanic: The Swarm.
More details about those will be revealed later.
I hope you enjoy this little cut scene. Let me know what you think!
